Mardi 21 Juin

Bonjour,

It's the evening of day two. After a good sleep for some (Mr Youlton) and a slightly less peaceful night for Miss Shippey and Miss Wollaston we have had a busy day. Off to the market at Etaples this morning where Lord Sugar set the children a task at the end of which the winning group would be hired. Miss Kilbey's team were the victors buying the various items required for just over 5 euros.

This afternoon the groups have enjoyed kayaking, raft building, blind trail, Initiative Exercises (IEs) abseiling or crows nest activities. A few pictures, to help give the flavour of the day's events, will now be added (hopefully)

Time is fast approaching this Year 6's School Trip to Le Château du Broutel.

There is great anticipation for our forthcoming trip to Arethusa. Lots of last minute planning is taking place, to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Children will need to come into School as normal for registration on Monday June 20th 2011.

Could parents please ensure that their children's luggage is at the Tennis Centre, Avebury Road. Unfortunately we have to ask that parents do not park in the Tennis Centre car park.

The coach will aim to depart at 9.45am

Don't forget your toothbrushes!!!!

Tuesday Night

The end of day two! "It was lovely to see all the Year 4 children's happy and exhausted faces reflected in the orange glow of the bonfire as they sat beside the River Medway," said Mr Youlton.

Today some children went on the climbing wall, Lucy thought it was the best activity so far. Charlie is still looking forward to his turn tomorrow. Leah thought the wall was scary at first but got used to it. Yehoshua persevred and was proud to get to the top of the climbing wall.

A highlight of the trip is the high wires. It was nervewracking for the children, and Mr Fraser needed to lie down in a dark room afterwards. Orla felt like spiderman man when hanging from the ropes. Tabitha enjoyed it because she felt safe and scared at the same time. Katie enjoyed doing the leap of faith.

Ben enjoyed the kayaking especially the capsize drill. Mrs Fudger did the capsize drill but didn't enjoy it too much!

Owen C-R said "I liked the doing the bang, boom and safe thing."

The tooth fairy is having a busy week he's visiting Theo whose tooth fell out in the woods today.

Monday evening

All Year 4 have arrived safely. They are all delighted with Arethusa.

Clarissa said I feel at home here. Charlie and lots of others like the bedrooms.

When we arrived everyone had a tour of the site and then made their beds.

Our activities today have been the Woodland walk. Lucy said she enjoyed putting mud on her face. Nicholas enjoyed the walk especially the climbing part with the rope. it wasn't muddy enough for a mud slide, but Natasha and others enjoyed sliding down the hills. Hannah J, Yasmine and Tanisha really liked the Woodland Walk with steep muddy climbs.

We also went swimming. Otto and George, and lots of others really enjoyed the swimming.

We've eaten lunch and dinner today. Abigail, Hannah M, Matty and Hailey thought was delicious. We had lovely chicken said Olga.
The tooth fairy will be visiting Georgina tonight as her tooth fell out.

We have spent the evening playing on the adventure playground and are now watching movies before bedtime.
